There is much confusion regarding the Western drama’s future
Amidst rumors swirling about Kevin Costner potentially exiting his role in “Yellowstone,” his co-star Wes Bentley, known for portraying Jamie Dutton in the series, has addressed the speculation.
Reports had surfaced suggesting that Costner’s purported decision to leave the show prompted creator Taylor Sheridan to consider ending the series, with talks of a spin-off featuring Matthew McConaughey in development.
Initially, it was alleged that conflicts between Sheridan and Costner over the actor’s shooting schedules for another project had strained their relationship, leaving the production of “Yellowstone” in jeopardy. However, Costner’s attorney vehemently denied these claims, labeling them as false.
Now, Bentley has weighed in on the matter, offering reassurance to fans. At the SCAD TV Festival, he stated, “I know that they’re still working things out with everyone to make sure we shoot.” He expressed confidence in the production process, emphasizing, “I’m confident we will. We always have before. I think it’s probably a bit of drama over nothing.”
Bentley acknowledged that discussions about the show’s future are beyond his scope, describing them as “above my pay grade.”
Representatives for Costner and Paramount Plus have been contacted for further comment by The Independent.
“Yellowstone” is currently airing its fifth season, with two spin-offs already in existence and two more in development. The series and its spin-offs are available for streaming on Paramount Plus and Prime Video.
