Monica perceives Pete as perfect but lacks romantic attraction towards him. Joey secures a role but despises his stage partner, Kate, who mocks him by revealing his involvement in an infomercial and his struggle with opening a milk carton. Mark invites Rachel on a date, but she initially declines, feeling it would be akin to cheating on Ross. However, Ross and Rachel argue when she returns his belongings to signify moving on. Consequently, Rachel accepts Mark’s invitation, but after he kisses her, she confesses that she only agreed to the date to spite Ross. Meanwhile, Joey develops feelings for Kate, who is romantically involved with the play’s director.
