Joey misses an important audition because Phoebe forgot to relay the message to him. To make amends, Phoebe secures another audition for Joey, posing as his agent. Meanwhile, Chandler is apprehensive about seeing Janice again due to his sudden fear of commitment. He desires to overcome this fear, envisioning it as passing through a tunnel where commitment no longer intimidates him. Joey successfully lands the role and requests Phoebe to manage his future auditions as well.
However, while Chandler conquers his fear of commitment, Janice becomes frightened and decides to leave. Rachel and Monica support Chandler emotionally, acknowledging that he has now experienced the fear they understand. Eventually, Phoebe resigns as Joey’s agent due to a series of rejections. In the end, Janice decides to give Chandler another chance.

• Mike Levey makes an uncredited appearance at the beginning in the segment with Joey using the Milk Master 2000. Largely forgotten now, he was a popular media figure in the 1990’s, who was frequently seen on television infomercials promoting new products with an overly enthusiastic manner, complete with an array of colorful sweaters. It’s interesting that the product featured here is now commonly found pre-installed on many milk and juice cartons sold in the U.S. now.
• The doll Ben has is the 1995 Winter Sports Barbie.
• At the end of the episode, Monica reminds Ross of a song that he made up and used to sing when he was a kid: “I am Bea, I drink tea. Won’t you dance around with me?” It has the same tune as the “Barney Song”. It’s the tune of the old rhyme “This Old Man”.
• At the end of the episode while Monica is eating ice cream, there is a kiwi strawberry drink sitting next to her. Ross gets up to drink it but in season 2 we learn that Ross is allergic to kiwi.
