Hollywood’s actors and studios are edging closer to a deal that would allow the industry to return to production after a strike of more than three months
Hollywood actors and studios are making progress towards a potential resolution to the strike that has disrupted the industry for over three months. Talks between the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have been ongoing since October 24, with both sides cautiously optimistic about reaching a deal.
The focus of recent discussions has centered on the actors’ counter-proposal regarding the use of artificial intelligence in production, a key point of contention in finalizing the three-year contract that would bring an end to the strike.
Hollywood’s writers had previously ended their strike on September 27, leading to the resumption of late-night talk shows and scripted movies and TV shows.
