PART 04 of 10
Michael Weatherly: A Career Trajectory
Michael Weatherly, known for his portrayal of Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS from 2003 to 2016, began his acting journey with appearances on The Cosby Show and soap operas like Loving and its spinoff The City.
In discussing his departure from NCIS, Weatherly expressed fondness for his character, highlighting DiNozzo’s “puppyish sense of fun and adventure.” His exit left fans reflecting on the impact of his charismatic portrayal.
Transitioning to a new role, Weatherly starred in the CBS legal drama Bull, which premiered in 2016. However, the show faced controversy and was canceled in 2022 amid sexual harassment allegations against the actor. Former Bull cast member Eliza Dushku detailed multiple instances of inappropriate behavior by Weatherly in a 2018 op-ed for The Boston Globe, leading to a settlement with CBS.
In response to the allegations, Weatherly issued an apology, acknowledging his inappropriate behavior and expressing regret for causing pain to Dushku. CBS, while committed to a safe workplace, acknowledged the need for continued efforts to foster a respectful environment.
In his personal life, Weatherly has been married to Bojana Jankovic since 2009, with whom he shares two children. Prior to his marriage to Jankovic, Weatherly was married to actress Amelia Heinle, with whom he has a son.
