Christine Baumgartner is reportedly seeking US$248k per month in child support
Christine Baumgartner, the estranged wife of Kevin Costner, has reportedly rebuffed the Yellowstone actor’s offer of $52,000 per month in child support payments, deeming it “inappropriate” amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings.
As the former couple navigates their separation, Baumgartner, 49, is purportedly seeking a significantly higher sum of $248,000 in monthly child support payments. Additionally, she has not complied with vacating their shared beachfront residence in California, a move Costner, 68, claims breaches their prenuptial agreement.
Initially offering $38,000, Costner has increased his proposed support, yet Baumgartner contends that his new offer falls short. She alleges that Costner spends approximately $240,000 monthly on himself and their children during his custodial periods.
In recently surfaced court documents obtained by TMZ, the handbag designer argues that Costner’s revised proposal is insufficient to sustain the lifestyle to which their three teenage children are accustomed. Citing their residence in a gated beachfront community and the support staff required to maintain their lifestyle, Baumgartner asserts the necessity of the higher figure she seeks.
Reportedly, she has agreed to vacate their home by August 31st, contingent upon Costner’s provision of additional financial support as determined by the court. However, a recent court ruling mandates her relocation by July 31st, a decision Costner purportedly welcomes. Baumgartner’s legal team has requested an extension to August 15th, citing inadequate time and resources to secure alternative housing that maintains their children’s accustomed standard of living.
Costner’s attorneys counter, asserting Baumgartner’s financial capability to secure housing with the $1.5 million cash settlement outlined in their prenuptial agreement. They claim he has extended multiple offers to assist in her relocation.
Amidst the legal wrangling, Costner has retreated to his Aspen, Colorado ranch, expressing discomfort in sharing a residence with Baumgartner and citing her refusal to vacate as disruptive to his work commitments.
Baumgartner’s divorce filing, citing irreconcilable differences and a separation date of April 11th, outlines the dissolution of their nearly two-decade-long marriage. Both parties seek joint custody of their three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.
