Irish actor Barry Keoghan has offered fans a tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, describing the script as “epic” in a recent interview with Josh Horowitz. Although Keoghan’s role remains undisclosed, his excitement adds to the growing anticipation for the Netflix feature film.
An Epic Return to the Shelby Saga
Joining Cillian Murphy, who reprises his role as Tommy Shelby, Keoghan is one of several new faces in the movie, alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo. Returning cast members include Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg, Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne, Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong, Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs, and Ian Peck as Curly.
The film, set during World War II, will delve into a “very specific story” inspired by true events. Creator Steven Knight promised it would be told “in the Peaky way.”
Anticipation Builds on Set
Director Tom Harper expressed excitement about continuing the beloved BBC series:

Production began in September 2024, with Netflix sharing a first-look photo of Murphy back in character as Tommy Shelby. The caption read: “By order of the Peaky Blinders… Tommy Shelby is back.”

Though fans eagerly await its release, Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for the Peaky Blinders movie.
