• In the third season, Matthew Perry was losing significant weight because of substance abuse issues. The show’s costume designers tried to hide this by dressing him in baggy and oversize clothes. • The first appearance of any of Joey’s sisters.
• This is the lengthiest episode title of the entire series.
• The first episode that has Chandler’s name in the title.
• Three of Joey’s sisters were recast. The part of Dina is played by Marla Sokoloff, and in the spin-off Joey (2004), the parts of Gina and Mary Therese are played by Drea de Matteo and Christina Ricci, respectively.
• Monica picked the name for one of the burgers at the restaurant where she works, which she named the Barbra Streisandwich. Barbra Streisand was once married to Elliott Gould, who plays Monica and Ross’s father, Jack Geller.
• Holly Gagnier, who played the uncredited role of one of Joey’s sisters Mary Angela Tribbiani, appeared in Days of Our Lives from 1985-1987. Joey, played by Matt LeBlanc, was on Days of Our Lives in the show.
• At Joey’s birthday party, Ross’s & Rachel’s outfits match. Rachel has on a charcoal top with brownish pants & Ross has a brownish shirt on with charcoal pants.
• Thomas James Kepner plays a singing party goer in this episode, however in The One After the Superbowl: Part 1 (1996) he played a concerned parent. Both roles were uncredited.
• When Chandler goes to Joey’s grandmother’s house to talk to Mary Angela, he walks in the front door, takes off his coat and leaves it on the floor for some reason.
• Additionally, in a series of hidden in plain sight clues, after re-watching the entire series run over the years, it becomes apparent that between them Joey’s sisters, Janice, and Monica, actually happen to look vaguely alike. Chandler has a definite type of woman he’s attracted too.
