Phoebe is hesitant to visit the dentist due to her belief that every time she does, someone passes away. Monica engages in an airplane game with Ben, accidentally causing a significant bump on his head, leading her and Rachel to attempt to conceal the injury. Meanwhile, Joey witnesses Janice kissing her ex-husband and informs Chandler. Phoebe, concerned about potentially causing a death, checks on Ugly Naked Guy, who has been immobile since the morning. To determine if he is merely napping or worse, they construct a large poking device from chopsticks. Ultimately, Chandler decides to leave Janice so she can return to her husband and child.

• Where Chandler pops up the paper bag Janice was using, the air in bag was supposed to go out slowly. But during the take, Matthew Perry used a little force and the bag popped on Maggie’s face and we can clearly see both Maggie and Matthew trying to hold their laughter.
• This episode marks the first time Ugly Naked Guy appears onscreen, albeit only his torso with his face obscured. He would make only one other onscreen appearance, in The One Where Everybody Finds Out (1999), from behind without his face being shown.
• When Gunther tells Chandler about Rachel’s burgundy shoes, the coffee menu board behind them features several generic coffee descriptions, plus the following unusual one: ‘Filtered through the finest Skid Row hankies, we get a brew so thin you’d think it’s tea.’
