Irish actor Cillian Murphy and Australian actress Margot Robbie got together to talk about the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon, produced by the release of their films “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” in July 2023.

The interview was published on the magazine’s digital channels on December 5, thus, the interpreter revealed that one of Oppenheimer’s producers called her to request that “Barbie” change the release date.
“One of your producers, Chuck Roven, called me because we worked together on some other projects. And he said, ‘I think you should change your date,’” the actress said.
After receiving that call, Robbie said that he flatly refused and challenged the producer to make them postpone the screening of the biographical film.
“I said, ‘We’re not changing our date. If you are afraid to face us, then you change your date.” And he says, ‘We’re not changing our date. I just think it would be better if you moved.’ And I said, ‘We’re not going to move!’ In fact, I think this is a great pairing. It’s a perfect double billing, ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie,’” he said.
Upon Margot’s revelation, the actor highlighted his action saying: “That was a good instinct.” After that he stated that the public had the power to decide which film to see. “They will decide and they themselves will generate the interest . ” he said he.
It should be remembered that “Oppenheimer” by director Christopher Nolan and “Barbie”, directed by Greta Gerwig, were released on July 21, 2023, both films were successful at the commercial box office.
About a “Peaky Blinders” movie
At another point in the conversation, the leading actress of “Barbie” declared herself a fan of the series “Peaky Blinders” (Netflix), so she asked Murphy if they would make a movie based on the franchise.
When asked, the actor showed his liking for a possible film based on the Netflix series. “I mean, I’m open to the idea,” he said. “I have always thought that there is more story to tell,” he added.
After learning of her wish, the actress reiterated her admiration for Peaky Blinders. “Since I’m a fan of yours, I’ve seen a lot of your stuff on YouTube, and on the Internet you’re not as aware of memes and things like that ,” she noted.
