The group finds themselves increasingly agitated upon the realization that they are under surveillance from the building across the street. Meanwhile, Rachel and Barry unexpectedly reignite their romantic involvement, despite Barry being engaged to Mindy. In a parallel scenario, Chandler grapples with frustration and confusion as the woman he is fond of fails to reciprocate his attempts at communication, leading him to feel a sense of unease and longing.

In The One with the Sonogram at the End (1994), Rachel tells Mindy that she hopes any of her future children will have Mindy’s old nose. In this episode, Mindy is played by Jennifer Grey, who famously had a had a nose job early in her career, making her unrecognizable and damaging her career.
Guest star Jennifer Grey (Mindy) played Jeanie Bueller in the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986). Jennifer Aniston played Jeannie Bueller in the short-lived spin-off TV series Ferris Bueller (1990).
