The hit series Peaky Blinders – Gangs of Birmingham ended two years ago with its season 6 finale. The story of Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his gangster family will soon reach a final climax with a feature film. Series creator and director Steven Knight has now given a promising update on the Peaky Blinders film.
Peaky Blinders film with Cillian Murphy is said to have a fantastic ending
What exactly the story of the film will be is not yet known. As Knight explains in an NME interview, viewers are meant to go through a whole range of emotions:
[Fans will be] shocked and thrilled and terrified. And then thrilled and shocked again. […] We will start filming in September. It’s going to be a big step forward and it’s great that fans can come together in one place and watch the film. The budget is bigger. Cillian is on fire. So I can’t wait.

Knight’s description doesn’t sound like all good news for Tommy Shelby’s entourage. Nevertheless, many fans will be eagerly awaiting the film: after all, the sixth season was released on Netflix in this country almost two years ago.
When will the Peaky Blinders film come to Germany?
There is no official release date for the Peaky Blinders film yet. If Knight’s prediction is confirmed and filming begins in September 2024, the film will not be released until mid-2025 at the earliest. It is still unclear where exactly the film will be shown. The film could appear on Netflix, TV and even in cinemas
