When Joey starts working with his tool belt, Chandler admires his rugged and confident demeanor but fears for his safety with Joey wielding tools like a child. Meanwhile, Phoebe’s eccentric brother Frank Jr. visits and demonstrates his peculiar hobby of melting anything he can get his hands on. Discovering Phoebe is a masseuse, Frank eagerly requests a massage from one of her colleagues, who is less than amused by his assumption that it was a euphemism for something more intimate.
At Central Perk, the friends create individual lists of five celebrities they find exceptionally attractive, with the understanding that dating these celebrities would not be considered infidelity by their real-life partners. Ross’s list initially includes Isabella Rossellini, but he removes her on Chandler’s advice that she is “international” and thus too unavailable. Ironically, Isabella Rossellini then walks into the bar.

• When Ross mentions Elizabeth Hurley, Chandler says that she is “very forgiving”. This is a reference to the notorious incident her then boyfriend Hugh Grant caused when he was arrested for having a public indiscretion with a prostitute in June 1995. To everyone’s surprise she publicly forgave him and they remained a couple for another 5 years.
• Ross mentions Elizabeth Hurley being on his list. Matthew Perry co-starred with her in Serving Sara (2002).

• This episode features Giovanni Ribisi as Frank Jr. The next episode The One with the Flashback (1996), has his twin sister Marissa Ribisi as Betsy one of Rachel’s friends.
• Rachel mentions Sting as a celebrity on her list. In future episodes, Ross’s son goes to school with Sting’s son.
• Ross includes Dorothy Hamill on his celebrity list. Courteney Cox (Monica) had previously acted alongside Dorothy’s ex-husband Dean Paul Martin in Misfits of Science (1985).
